About

Hi, I'm Alexey

I'm a senior software engineer in Munich. I build web apps, microservices, and the cloud infrastructure they run on, across IoT, fintech, and public-sector systems.

I like owning things end to end and working on small teams where I get to touch everything.

I work mostly in TypeScript, Go, and Python these days, with deep roots in Java and Kotlin, and I lean on AI-assisted development to move faster. But technologies and tools are just instruments. What they're really for is building something for people that lights up their day — the way an aurora lights up the dark.

Experience

A short history

  1. 2025 — Present

Lead Software Developer · Sono Solar, Munich

Leading engineering for a small team building the platform that manages fleets of vehicle-mounted solar installations. Shipped two production React apps — an installer tool for field engineers and a real-time dashboard for vehicle owners and fleet operators. Migrated the company's infrastructure to code on GCP, integrated AI tooling across the dev pipeline, and provisioned a full white-label clone of the platform via Terraform.

  2. 2018 — 2025

Senior Software Engineer · tado°, Munich

Took a new product generation from hardware prototype to install-ready in under a year, working on top of unfinished Matter protocol specs. Designed and ran an OAuth 2.0 authentication server, built integrations with Alexa, Google Home, and IFTTT, and shipped the tado° Professional installer app in Flutter. Acted as a technical anchor across the org — regular workshops, demos, and self-serve analytics tooling for non-engineers.

  3. 2016 — 2018

    Software Developer · RBKmoney, Moscow

Built microservices for an online payment system where reliability and security were non-negotiable. Contributed to infrastructure automation with Docker and SaltStack.

  4. 2013 — 2016

Team Lead / Software Developer · Lanit, Moscow

Led development of nationwide public-sector information systems, coordinating multiple teams (~20–40 engineers). Owned timelines and delivery quality, built MVPs, and defined APIs for external services.

  5. Earlier

Altarix (government analytics) · Beeline/VimpelCom (systems support).

Projects

Things I've built outside of work.

  • QuantumFate

My melodic death metal band and main creative outlet. I play bass, create the visuals and videos, and designed and built the site itself.

  • Screenshot Guessing Game

A game where players identify video games from a single screenshot. Built with a friend in React, Python, and FastAPI.
